National Brokerage Leadership
Leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive compliance framework spanning FINTRAC, DNCL, PIPEDA, PRECs, and regulatory oversight for a national brokerage start-up. The work focuses on modernizing compliance through automation and AI-enabled tools, while creating standardized SOPs and workflows that bring consistency, accountability, and operational efficiency throughout the brokerage.
Operations & Regulation
Led brokerage operations across six provinces, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with provincial regulations. Spearheaded national policy alignment, operational restructuring, and the integration of AI-enabled systems and CRM tools to improve efficiency and service delivery. Coordinated with regulators, overseeing audits and driving compliance enhancements while building trust across internal and external stakeholders.
Legal & Compliance Advisory
Provided experienced leadership and oversight of company regulatory, legal, and compliance responsibilities at every level of organized real estate and government. Advised agents on offer situations, potential legal issues, clause creation, and contract review. Created and implemented a new FINTRAC policy and training regime, culminating in the successful completion of a FINTRAC compliance examination by the regulatory board.

Brian provided oversight and leadership for a mid-sized brokerage and its day-to-day operations, ensuring growth and profitability targets were achieved while increasing revenue and unit sales every year.
He doubled the number of branches, increased agent count by 20%, and expanded the company to Niagara and Port Hope. He implemented a digital deal management system and centralized deal processing and administration, creating significant efficiencies and 30% labour savings.
He also developed corporate and branch budgets, facilitated annual strategic planning sessions, chaired management committee meetings, and created a company Code of Conduct to raise awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Throughout it all, he shepherded the generational transition of a family company during a period of growth.
